Child slaves made your Halloween candy. Stop buying it. Check-out this list of delicious, fair-trade Halloween candy instead. Trick-or-treat!
This makes me sick.
Thank you to GOOD for encouraging us all to make change.

Another beautiful non-profit organization to follow.
Have to add this to my charities list!

For our service project this semester, we are working with Courtney’s House, a home in Washington DC for young victims of sex trafficking. Until this semester, I had no idea that slavery still existed in our country. It horrifies me.
As part of our project, we are doing a toiletry drive to bring supplies to Courtney’s House. We are also selling blue ribbons to wear as bracelets or tied to bags to raise awareness of our human trafficking project and the issues in our country. We also have a twitter feed, @notproperty, which is part of our slogan: We are… People Not Property!
In running the twitter feed for our project, learning more about Courtney’s House as a non-profit organization, and doing a lot of reading on charity: water for another school project, I’ve fallen in love with non-profit organizations and would love to be a part of something noble.
I would really like to see more charities join the tumblr ranks… just sayin’.
Keep questioning (and follow @notproperty on twitter!),

I hope that more charities will be joining tumblr’s ranks, so in an effort to raise awareness of different organizations and their missions, I’m creating a list of these groups & their tumblr presence!
That’s all I could find… I would love to see more charities flock to tumblr (charity: water, water.org, Three Avocados, Courtney’s House, One Day’s Wages, etc.). If you have any to add to the list, please comment below!
Keep questioning,
Sara
Edit 7/31 - I need to catalogue/better organize this list… hang tight!
